1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The above verses speaks of 2 things–the sacrifice that we owe to God and the means of accomplishing such a sacrifice. Our very life should testify of our Lord…He sacrificed His Life so that we could give it back to Him. This, of course, requires dying to our flesh daily [Luke 9:23] and part of this involves forgetting what we know to be true through our fleshly knowledge and learn His truth and His promises for us through His Word. We must RENEW our minds and learn His ways so that we can be in the will of God.
I will admit that lately I have fallen into relying own my own wisdom (or the wisdom of others) and walking by sight than by what God says about the situation. In writing this reflection I remind others, and myself, that we need to talk to Him more and allow Him to speak to us through His Word. Because the world–full of lies, darkness, and deception–is constantly in our ear. To whom will you listen?
In His Love,
